Test if Working Correctly
- Open your PC's web browser and enter into the address field: http:92.168.0.2:9091 (where 192.168.0.2 is substituted with your NSLU2 IP address), then you should see the Transmission web Interface.
- Use your browser to find a torrent file for a small download (could try one of the "legal torrent" sites and look for a 50MB or less download). Copy the torrent file onto your Windows desktop. Then use the Transmission's web interface Open tool to Browse to your Windows desktop and upload the torrent file. After a short delay transmission will have uploaded the torrent file to the NSLU2, and then begin to download the required files.
- After download is complete, use My Network Places to open DISK 2 on the Linksys NSLU2. Then open Downloads to see your download. Copy it to Windows and check that it works.
- Normally you should leave the files for 100% seeding. However, for testing check that the Transmission web Interface can be used to delete the torrent and associated files.
If there are problems then enable telnet to the NSLU2 and login as root (see earlier instructions). Some useful Linux commands to help you find your problem are given in the appendix.
Note, you can check if transmission-daemon is running by typing "pidof transmission-daemon". If three numbers are returned then it is running, if no numbers are returned then it is not running, if anything else is returned then stop the transmission-daemon and restart it.
Well done! You have built the standard downloader. You may now, if your require, tailor the basic system.
